Event Description

This year Duquesne's Amnesty and the Pittsburgh Human Rights Network are teaming up to put on the 2010 Human Rights Arts Festival to raise awareness of the conflict happening in the Democratic Republic of the Congo!

We are lucky enough to have Sasha Levhnez coming to speak at our event. Sasha is the co-founder of Grassroots Reconciliation Group, which works with child soldiers in the Congo and Uganda. Sasha will share his first-hand knowledge and experience from working in the Congo and help to educate about the vicious fighting that is ravaging the country.

We’re excited to have over 15 local artists show their work. There will be raffle prizes featuring some of the displayed works, as well as items donated from local businesses.

Also Gramsci Melodic, Joy Ike, New American Classic, and Creche will be performing!!
