October is a wonderful month. Fall officially begins as the leaves change their colors creating beautiful aesthetic scenery. The hot unforgiving heat of summer ends giving an opportunity for long sleeve shirts, hoodies, and sweatshirts to break out of the closet. Most people start to plan their Halloween costume, and children impatiently wait for the massive amounts of candy they will receive at the end of the month. These features make October a month to enjoy. This year October will be taking a new title as “One Month.”

A Pittsburgh student run non-profit group,
One Life One World One Peace, organized an international month of service, and aptly named in “One Month.” The greatest thing about One Month is that it takes place everywhere! So if your reading this blog post thousands of miles away from Pittsburgh and say to yourself, “I wish I could be a part of One Month, but I love too far away.” Fear not! You can do One Month in your community. Just get a group of friends together and perform community service acts throughout the month of October as often as you like. E-mail eric@1life1world1peace.org let him know about what you are doing in your community, and we’ll connect you with the rest of the people around the country and the world who are participating in One Month. You’ll be able to share your expressions and thoughts about how One Month affects you with people across the globe! Then, hear other’s thoughts about One Month. If you are already involved in a community service group, or perform community service on a regular basis, then let us know and you can be in One Month too. One Month is for everyone everywhere. The idea behind One Month is to connect the global community through local grassroots action. By performing services that directly address the needs of people’s local communities, we believe people across the world will connect with each other from their common experiences. If you live in the Pittsburgh area and want to get involved with One Month e mail pat@1life1world1peace.org

This upcoming Saturday, One Life One World One Peace will be performing community service with the Pittsburgh Food Bank, and the Pittsburgh Project. October is only a day away, but it is not too late to get involved with One Month. Join One Life One World One Peace our answer to history’s question of our generation.
